Racine – John S. Weisbrod, 41, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 4, 2013.  He was born in Racine on January 16, 1972, son of Dennis Weisbrod and Kathleen (nee: Kunce) Froode.  On October 11, 2012, John was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lisa (nee: Carlson) Weisbrod.

John graduated from Park High School in 1990.  He then attended Gateway Technical College.  John was a firefighter and paramedic for the South Shore Fire Department.  He was an expert with a bow and enjoyed hunting deer and turkey.  John also enjoyed camping and Harley-Davidson bikes.  He was a true baseball fan and could always be found rooting for his number one team, the Milwaukee Brewers.  John was a loving and giving person who would do anything for anybody.  John even gave others the gift of life by being a bone/tissue donor at the end.  Above all, John loved his family dearly.  He was a fantastic husband and father.  He will be dearly missed by his entire family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

John leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Lisa Weisbrod; children, Adam Weisbrod, Alyssa Weisbrod, Jillian Braden, all of Racine; father, Dennis (Judy) Weisbrod; mother, Evangelist Kathleen Froode; siblings, Bill (Laura) Weisbrod, Brian Weisbrod, Jodi (Marty) Boganrief of Minnesota, Mike (Angie) Weisbrod, Matt (Chris Jensen) Weisbrod; mother-in-law, Carol Carlson; brothers-in-law, Tony (Jolene) Carlson, Mike (Danielle) Lehman; sisters-in-law, Bev Carlson, Sheila (Nick) Angotti; nieces and nephews, Eric Weisbrod, Evan Weisbrod, Josh Weisbrod, Joey Weisbrod, Zack Boganrief, Alan Boganrief, Leah Nelson, Eryn Weisbrod, Allyson Weisbrod, Alex Weisbrod; other relatives, fellow South Shore firefighters, friends at the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and dear friends too numerous to mention.  John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Emery and Helen Weisbrod, Geneva and Frank Bishop, step-father, Roy Froode, and good friend, Paul Kopecky.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 12:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, 4pm until 8pm, and again on Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of the service.  Burial will follow services Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia.  In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Lisa Weisbrod to establish education trust funds for their children.

So deeply sorry for your loss Lisa and family.John was the most easy going guy I knew, always making sure everyone was happy and ok, and would do anything for anybody,I wish I had the chance to get to know him better, this world needs more people like him. Now that he's up in heaven he can look after and protect all the loved ones he still has here and be their gaurdian angel and keep them safe, and guind them from harm. John touched many hearts along his journey in life, and ALL those people have nothing but wonderful memories to hold on to in their hearts FOREVER! Take care Lisa, I am here for you.

"Bill's service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn't expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special. Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full. Bless you."
