Christopher William Andrews

Mar 3, 1951 – Mar 25, 2015

Christopher William Andrews, 64, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. He was born in Anniston, Alabama on March 3, 1951, son of the late Donald and Dorothy (nee: Olson) Andrews. Chris was a Racine area resident for most of his life, and was employed for over 40 years at JI Case where he was a training instructor.

Chris was an easy man to like and to be drawn to due to his good-natured personality. He always enjoyed socializing and catching up with his many friends. Chris was an avid fan of the Indianapolis 500, having attended the race for over 50 years. Chris was very proud of his Nordic heritage, and was a member of the Sons of Norway. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #437.

Chris is survived by his children, Wendy Andrews of Caledonia, and Dan (Holly) Andrews of Sheboygan; granddaughter Paige Andrews; brother Matt (Pat) Andrews and niece Nicole Andrews of Franklin; former spouse Janet Dunn of Carmel, Indiana; as well as his other relatives and good friends across the United States while working for JI Case.

A memorial service for Chris will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Dr. M.A. Miritz officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the start of the service.

Our deepest sympathies at the loss of Chris. We enjoyed his kind spirit each time he visited Fargo to train at Titan Machinery. He endeared himself to so many here, but particularly to those of us on the training team. In particular he was kind to my great colleague Betsy and her family. He took a genuine interest in those with whom he interacted. It was an honor to get to know him as a colleague and friend. I hope you can take solace in the fact that anyone as kind and caring as Chris will have a special place in Heaven.

Sorry to hear about Chris. I first met Chris when he and I lived on the same floor at the Towers Residence Hall while in college at Iowa State. He always had a smile and a laugh. He was fun to be around. My condolences to his family.

Chris and I were Burlington classmates, having started kindergarten together at Perkins Elementary School. We spent time together during our college days, sharing our friend Mark Brown. While Chris and I hadn’t seen or talked much recently, when we did talk, it was just like we’d seen each other yesterday. I’m so glad I knew him!
