Albert Sanchez Sr., 60, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, on November 28, 2006. He was born in Kenosha on August 17, 1946, the son of the late Nicholas and Geromina (nee: Lopez) Sanchez. On Feb. 20, 1970 they celebrated the birth of their son Albert "Nunu" Sanchez Jr., who preceded him in death on May 14, 1998. On January 14, 1967, here in Racine, he was united in marriage to the former Velma Saldivar.

Mr. Sanchez had been employed by S.C. Johnson for over 37 years. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army from 1967 until 1968. He was a member of the Racine Baptist Temple. He was an avid sportsman; playing City League Softball, with his son Nunu and won several championships. He also played City League Basketball, bowled, golfed and shot pool in various leagues. He enjoyed traveling and making memories for his family. His three greatest loves were his God, his wife and his grandsons. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his beloved wife Velma; his grandsons, Sage and Santana, his daughter-in-law Michelle Sanchez, all of Racine; his mother-in-law Gavina Saldivar of Kenosha; his brothers and sisters, Nick (Stella) Sanchez II, Susana Gonzales, Eva (Fermin) Gonzales, Saferina (Jim) Finn all of Racine, LaLa Rodriques of Dallas, TX, Dan (Kathy) Hernandez of Cape Coral, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frances Sanchez, Alberto (Patty Ingersoll) Saldivar all of Racine, Lucy Saldivar of Kenosha, Loreta (Ismael) Garcia of Pleasant Prairie, WI. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Albert "Nunu" Sanchez Jr., his brother Raul Sanchez, his father-in-law Alberto Saldivar Sr., and his brother-in-law Jose Gonzales.

His funeral service will held in the funeral home on Friday, December 1st, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Frank Williams officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hy 32. Memorials have been suggested to an educational fund to be established for his beloved grandsons, Sage and Santana.
