A Celebration of Life…..Our beloved Albert Earnest "Sonny" Walker passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Racine, WI, at the age of 70 years old.  Sonny was born in Okolona, Mississippi on March 20, 1945, son of the late Woodrow and Icelean (nee: Wilson) Walker.

Sonny received Christ at an early age at Jolly Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Okolona, Mississippi.  He later became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Racine, WI.

Sonny was employed at Belle City for thirty years and was also employed part-time at Mary Ann's Janitorial for many years.  On December 27, 1972 he was united in marriage to Margaret Moore their union was blessed with four children,  Brenda Gardner, John Gardner, Shalonda Watkins and Shenika Walker.  He was later united in marriage to Cordelia (nee: Henderson) Walker.

He is survived by his three children, Shalonda (William) Watkins of Minneapolis, MN, Shenika Walker of Racine, WI and John Gardner of Lafayette, IN; twenty one grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his stepmother, Mary Louise Walker of Kalamazoo, MI; four sisters, Minnie Dean Gordon of Racine, WI, Barbara (Archie) Carouthers, Ole Mae Gunn, Debra Metcalf all of Okolona, Mississippi; two  stepsisters, Doris Abbott and Willie Dean Mullen of Kalamazoo, MI; two stepbrothers, Charles Abbott of Racine,WI and Michael (Valerie) Abbott of Kalamazoo, MI; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Walker and Priscilla Young of Racine, WI; two brothers-in-law, Lee Moore and Allen Moore of Marian, Alabama, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Walker; daughter, Brenda Gardner; granddaughter, Isalena Jones; grandsons, Marize Jones and Shaquille Gardner; brother, Earnest Walker; sister, Mary Carouthers; stepbrothers, William Abbott and Robert Abbott; stepsister, Jonell Abbott; sisters-n-law, Linda Abbott, Annie Fralin and Ella Mae Moore.  Sonny will be truly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, 11:00am at Higher Dimensions Church, 1500 Grange Ave. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of service. Pastor Adrian Malone will be officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
