RACINE – Mrs. Alda Wells, 100, passed away at Above and Beyond Adult Group Home in Racine on Friday, December 18, 2015.

She was born in Ottawa, IL on January 13, 1915, the daughter of Carl and Lucille (nee: Fornarey) Zamagni.   On June 22, 1935 she married Henry Frank "Chief" Wells in St. Lucy Catholic Church.   He preceded her in death on January 2, 1997.

Mrs. Wells owned and operated Wells Brothers Super Market with her husband for many years.  She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.  Mrs. Wells was also a member of the Racine Racing Pigeon Club Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed playing cards with friends.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her entire family.

She is survived by her sons, Rano (Suzanne) Wells of Kenosha, Carl (Vicki) Wells of Mount Pleasant; her grandchildren, Rano (Linda) Wells II, Tammy (Joe) Spodick both of Raymond, Mathew (Sarah) Holmquist of Racine; her great grandchildren, Andy and Eric Spodick and Rano Wells III.  She is further survived by her brother, Frank Zamagni; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Wells was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rano Zamagni, Julio (Lydia) Zamagni and her sister-in-law, Gertrude Zamagni.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.) on Saturday, December 26, 2015 for a visitation from 10-11 a.m.  The celebration of her life and funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  Her interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery Garden Crypts.
