Alex Cox

Jul 13, 1929 – Mar 28, 2016

RACINE – Alex Cox, Jr., 86, was called to his eternal home on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Ridgewood Care Center.

   Alex was Born in Ripley Miss. on July 13, 1929 to the late Alex Cox Sr. and Hattie (nee: Boyd) Cox. Alex worked at Belle City for over 30 years before retirement in the 1990's.

   Alex loved hunting in his early years.  He was raised in a Christian home and received Christ at an early age.

   He is survived by his three children, Jewel Cox of New Jersey, William Charles Cox of Ripley Miss, and Charles Strong of Nashville Tenn. He's also survived by 3, granddaughters; 1 grandson; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Albert (Irene) Cox, and a special cousin, Mose Cox. Alex Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Dana L. Simmons, Lulamay Currath, Lizzetta Johnson, and Jamie Johnson and 3 brothers, Clifford Cox, Ernest Cox, and Henry Cox, and wife Louise (Bell) Cox and very dear special friend of over forty years Annie Fay McGee. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.

   Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of his Homegoing.  There will be a visitation in the funeral home from 10-11 a.m.  His interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
