In Loving Memory of Alice D. (Bay Scott) Davis
On November 10, 1963, a beautiful baby girl, Alice Denise Scott, was born in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late James C. Scott Sr. and Evangelist Ella Mae (Willis) Scott.
On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Alice peacefully departed this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Alice accepted Christ at an early age, and her faith remained an important part of her life. She attended Kenosha Public Schools, graduating from Reuther High School before furthering her education at Gateway Technical College, where she earned her degree as a licensed practical nurse.
On May 17, 1997, Alice married the love of her life, Alric Davis. Together they shared 38 wonderful years filled with love, faith, and cherished memories.
Alice dedicated her career to working as a nurse in nursing homes, where she found great joy in caring for others. Her compassion and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless patients and their families.
Family was the center of Alice's world. She adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She loved spending time with her family—laughing, joking, making memories, and simply enjoying each other's company. Alice was known for speaking her mind, but those who knew her also knew she had a beautiful smile, a caring soul, and a generous heart. She would do whatever she could to help anyone in need.
As a young woman, Alice had a special talent for braiding hair. She became known for creating beautiful zigzag patterns and initials in hairstyles. Every weekend and throughout much of the summer, she looked forward to traveling to Waukegan to braid the hair of her cousins' children. It was one of the many ways she showed her love.
Another treasured memory was her birthday tradition. Alice never missed the chance to call loved ones and sing her own extra-long version of "Happy Birthday," always ending with a playful attempt to hit the highest note she could. Those calls brought smiles and laughter that will never be forgotten.
Alice was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring mother-in-law, cherished grandmother, proud great-grandmother, beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and faithful friend. Her love, generosity, and unforgettable personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Alice leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Alric Davis; her children, Howard Scott, Daryl Scott, DeShaun (LaToya) Davis, and Kenton (Sophia) Davis; her sisters, Patricia (Doyle) Winston and Sara Scott; her grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her sister-in-law, Terry Scott; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; a host of nephews, great-nephews, nieces, great-nieces, cousins, other relatives, many dear friends, and a very special friend, Tina Tyler.
Alice was preceded by death Dad & Mom, 3 Brothers, James Scott Jr, Charles E. Scott, Robert B. Scott, 4 Sisters, Barbara J. (Roy) Powe, Carolyn A. Scott, Mary A. (Famous)Scott, Bessie M. Scott, 1 niece, Benika M. Scott, 1 Son Dwayne A. Davis, 3 brothers in-law, Jackie Davis Gregory Davis, and Tyrone Davis .
Though Alice's physical presence is no longer with us, her love, laughter, warm smile, and giving spirit will remain forever in our hearts. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
