RACINE – Mrs. Alice J. Rigby, 68, passed away at WFH – All Saints on Thursday, January 8, 2015.

She was born in Racine on November 18, 1946, the daughter of the late John and Sophie (nee: Kielar) Leszczynski.   Alice was a graduate of St. Catherine's High School in 1964.  On October 14, 1972, she married the love of her life, John Wilbert Rigby at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 1993.

Alice retired from JI Case Corporation (CNH) after 45 years of service as a secretary.  She enjoyed gardening in her yard, shopping and being in the company of her family and friends.  Always lending an ear and finding the silver lining in all situations with humor and a warm heart.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Jody Rigby; her granddaughter, Bailey Rigby, her nieces and nephew, Debi (Marty) Schwartz, Dee Dee Hedges, David Schenider; her great nieces, Tori and Allie Hedges all of Racine; as well as cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Sally (Don) Schneider and brother, Robert Leszczynski.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday evening for a visitation from 5-7 p.m.  The celebration of her life and funeral Mass will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  There will also be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.  Her interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caledonia will follow the Mass. Memorials in Alice's name have been suggested to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
