Alvin W. Schattner, 92, passed away at his daughter's home on Sunday August 27, 2017. He was born in Racine County on August 29, 1924 the son of the late Theodore and Stella (nee: Loppnow) Schattner.

Mr. Schattner was a longtime Racine County farmer and was also employed by the Racine County Highway Department. On June 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce Tobias, who preceded him in 2005. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Mr. Schattner enjoyed working in his garden, taking care of his property, and did all his own lawn work up until 2 years ago. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Rieth, numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 30 ^th at 1:30 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Ave., with Rev. Randal Poppe officiating. Visitation will be in the church from 12:00 O'clock Noon until the time of the Service. For those who wish, memorials should be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
