Obituary

A shining light was born on January 8, 2002 – Amiah Marie "Pooh" Prather embraced the world with her vibrant spirit and undeniable zest for life. It is with heavy hearts that we come together to celebrate and honor the life of this remarkable soul, who tragically departed from us with her unborn daughter, Honesti, on September 6, 2024, leaving a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

With her passing, we bid farewell to a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother, and friend. Amiah's presence exuded a captivating blend of fearlessness, creativity, and unwavering passion. She was more than a caregiver in her profession, she was a nurturing soul who found solace in helping others, spreading love and kindness wherever she went.

Amiah's artistic talents knew no bounds; she was a gifted seamstress, a master of arts and crafts, and an expert in the intricate details of eyelash and nail design. Her creativity sparkled like a gem, radiating beauty and charm to all those around her. She found solace and strength in her spirituality, immersing herself in the teachings of the Bible, sharing her faith with others, and touching the lives of many.

Amiah leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Tamia May; her father, Demetris Waller; her step father, Gregory May; her children, Legend Bell, Noah Bell, Sevyn Bell; Lamontae Bell (father of her children); siblings, Bryan Overstreet Jr., Damonia Pegues, Jabari Waller, Sr.; step brother, Gregory May II; grandmothers, Lynn Lother, Alfredia White; great-grandmother, Effie Lacey; nieces and nephews, Sailynn Overstreet, Bryson Overstreet, Jaiden Clark, Aalayah Cobb, Jabari Waller, Jr., Jayden Waller; special auntie, Lesile Prather; special cousin, Adrenique Funderberg; best friend, Taziya Wadlington; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Amiah is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Willie Prather, and Edward Waller.

As we gather to pay our respects and celebrate the lives of our dear Amiah and Honesti, we invite you to join us in a ceremony of remembrance and love. On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 10:00 am, we will come together at Greater Mount Eagle Missionary Baptist Church, 929 State Street, with Pastors Stanley and Alicia McKenzie officiating, to honor their memory and share stories of Amiah's wonderful life. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, where we will bid our final farewells and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. As the sun sets on Amiah's and Honesti's earthly journey, we lay them to rest in a peaceful burial following the service on Tuesday, at 12:30 pm, at Graceland Cemetery in Racine. May their souls find eternal comfort and may their memory shine bright in the heavens above, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness.

In her vibrant essence, Amiah will forever be remembered, her legacy engraved in the lives she touched and the love she bestowed upon us all. Let us honor her with joy, celebrate her with gratitude, and carry forward the light she shared with us, forever in our hearts.
