Andre Tucker, age 52, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin.  Andre was born on April 8, 1964 to Theodore R. Tucker and Martha A. Tucker in Racine, Wisconsin.

Andre received his formal education in the Racine Unified School District.  He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age and was united with Greater Mount Eagle Baptist Church.

Andre is a Veteran of The United States Army.  He was also employed by The Canadian Pacific Railway as a Conductor for over twenty Five years before retiring.

Andre leaves to cherish her memory, his son, Jordan Tucker; his sisters, Vanessa Lilly, Valerie (David) Smith and Veronica Tucker, whom he loved dearly; his brother, Chad Tucker; his nieces, Nerissa Tucker, Gabrielle Tucker and Olivia Tucker; nephews, Chazere Miller, Theodore (Jenna) Tucker and Trystin Tucker; great nieces, Calia Tucker and Abby Miller and his great nephew, Darrius Etter.  He also leaves to cherish his memory, his Aunts, Sadie Stone, Daisy Williams, Gloria Rogers and Wilma Rogers; uncles, Claude (Wilma) Rogers, Leslie (Patricia) Rogers and John Shannon.  He is further survived by Edna Fletcher, whom he called Granny; his god sister and brother, Marion Fletcher and Michael Fletcher, as well as many other dear cousins and friends too numerous to mention them all by name.

Andre was preceded in death by his father, Theodore R. Tucker and his mother, Martha A. Cooper as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andre will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him!

We were deeply saddened (and shocked) to hear of Andre’s passing on Monday. Dre was a caring person and always found time to reach out to family (and friends). He would always make a point to call or make annual visits down south. We were looking forward to seeing him soon, either in Racine or here in Slidell. Words fall short of expressing our sorrow for the loss of a brother and friend…, but as you know, God has the last word. Please know that those that were closest to him are in our prayers during this difficult time. RIP Dre!

Andre, a longtime yard conductor, will be remembered by his fellow railroaders in Milwaukee and elsewhere for his unique sense of humor and incisive wit. A day working with Tuck was never boring, and often memorable. Take care brother Andre, and may you Rest In Peace.

At a loss for words. Tuck was my main man for the time we spent in the Military. From Basic Training at Fort Benning, GA to 3 years at Ft. Ord. You missed the trip to Korea but you were right there when we returned it we picked up as if we never left. I will never the forget to talks we shared about our homes while on guard duty. “Telling lies to make the time go faster”. We had some times in CA. and to google your name and find this has me stuck right now. May you rest in Peace and for your family and friends I pray for comfort and peace. MANCHU

Testimonials

March 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.

Love you,

Jody Burlingame Wagner
