Ann L. Schemel, 67, of Racine passed away at her residence on Friday, October 4, 2024. She was born in Edgerton, WI on November 11, 1956, the daughter of the late John and Delores (Nee: Goede) Schumacher Sr.

On September 17, 1983, in Edgerton, WI, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, David P. Schemel. They shared 37 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death on December 1, 2020. Ann had a passion and calling to take care of others and worked as a CNA in Rock County. She worked as a caregiver until she and David started their family in 1986. Ann brought three children into this world and devoted her life to them by becoming a stay-at-home mom. In her free time, Ann enjoyed getting lost in the storyline of a good book, trying new creative endeavors, and doing word puzzles. Ann was also an avid thrifter and always found the best treasures. However, her greatest enjoyment came from the times she spent with family and friends.

Surviving are her two daughters, Abbey and Lindsey Gwinnup, of Kenosha, and Sara Schemel, of Madison; two grandchildren, Kinzie and Lynden Gwinnup; and her brother, John (Debbie) Schumacher Jr., of Milton, WI. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Ann was preceded in death by her son, Billy Schemel.

Service Details

Their memorial service will he held in the funeral home on November 2, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service .
