Racine – Anna (nee: Chasar) Ello, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 12, 2014 at Ridgewood Care Center.
Anna was born in Jedo, PA on March 11, 1918 to the late John and Anna (nee: Stofan) Chasar. On January 26, 1946 she was united in marriage with the love of her life, George Ello, at St. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church. Immediately following, Anna and George moved to Racine where they owned & operated Plaza Shoe Repair on Durand Avenue. Sadly, George passed away on December 30, 1991.
With a profound Christian faith, Anna was a proud & faithful member of Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church – where she had been active with the Ruth Circle and 55 Club. Among her interests, she enjoyed fishing with George and taking bus trips to the casino. Above all, Anna will forever be remembered for her constant beautiful smile and for always wanting to be in the surroundings of her entire family.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane (Wes) Larsen; son, Dennis (Debra) Ello; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicole) Larsen, Carrie (Nicholas) Schurrer, Chad (Erin) Ello and Stephanie (Tim) Trudrung; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Maxx and Megan Larsen; Owen and Camden Trudrung; and Colton Ello; sister, Mary (George) Wood; sister-in-law, Annie Chasar; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronald Ello; granddaughter, Kimberly Hoban; brothers, John (Giesla) Chasar, Mike Chasar and George (Alice) Chasar; sisters, Margaret (Paul) Buncheck, Helen Chasar and Theresa Semasek; sister-in-law, Anna (Joseph) Mahdik; and brother-in-law, John Kitto.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:00 am in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Avenue, with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Entombment will follow in the crypts of Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-7 pm and in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. Memorials to Pentecost Ev. Lutheran Church has been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to the wonderful staff at Ridgewood Care Center for the compassionate care and support extended to Anna during the past nine months. May God bless all of you!
