In loving memory of our mother, Annie Jean Hunter, who transitioned from life to eternal life on Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was born in Genada, MS, on February 10, 1956, daughter of the late William Neal, Sr. and Earline (nee: Alexander) Neal.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Wanda Neal, Nina Hunter; step-daughter, Shanda Smith; God-daughter, Erin Barker; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; mother, Earline Neal; sisters, Mildred and Joyce; brother, Terry, Sr.; special friend, Karla Burks; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her father, Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Joe “Cool” Hunter; one granddaughter; one sister; one brother; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Annie’s homegoing service will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 2014, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Minister Leisa Hill-Driver and Bishop Lawrence L. Kirby, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
