Racine – Annie Laura (nee: Hunter) McDonald, 75, passed away Woodstock Care Center in Kenosha on Saturday evening, November 14, 2009. Annie was born in Enterprise, Mississippi on May 24, 1934 to the late Kline and Laura (nee: Bennett) Hunter. She came to Racine in 1964. Annie retired from One-Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners after 15 years of service. With a profound faith in God, she was a proud member of Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Among her interests, Annie enjoyed shopping, cooking and getting up with her soap operas. Above all, she loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her husband, Willie "Sonny" McDonald; her children, Walter (Twylight) Hunter, Oscar (Joanne) Hunter, Lora (Derrick) Mosley, Willie (Dorothy) McDonald, Linda McDonald, Keith McDonald and Glenn McDonald; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Pearl Stokes; Godson, Bobby Thomas; special friends, Alvalone Dawson and Sandra Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention all by name. In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 great-grandchild. A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11 am in Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 1326 State Street, with Rev. Aldred W. Scaife officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Viewing will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am.
