Racine, WI – Annie Cansetta Savage, 87, completed her earthly journey peacefully on June 16, 2020. She was born in New Albany, Mississippi on April 13, 1933 to the late Matthew Howell and Viola (nee: Houston) Howell. She was married to Robert L. Savage for 47 years who preceded her in death in 2006. Annie was a Child Care Provider for over 20 years. She loved God, caring for children, spending time with family, sitting on the porch talking to everyone and telling you about her life stories that were sure to make you smile, listening to Jimmy Swaggart and Lee Williams. Annie was a faithful member of the Greater Mount Eagle Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 year, serving on the Mother's Board until her health would no longer allow her to serve. She leaves to cherish precious memories, children, Sutan Ali (Charles Barker) of Atlanta, Georgia, Hayes Barker of Racine, Wisconsin, Linda Payton and Connie (Early Mae) Savage both of Oxford, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lavel Scott, Tonja Barker of Robbins, Illinois, Deniseon (Renee) King, Deonte Walton, Sielethia (Morrell) Munger, Sharnetta Walton, Dimontray Barker, Deon Walton and Shararrius Walton all of Racine, Wisconsin; 34 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ruby Howell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Annie Ruth Howell of Racine, Wisconsin. She is further survived by a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Special nephew Chief Art Howell and Best Friend Betty Jean Harper of Glenburnin, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Viola Howell; husband Robert Savage; daughter Susan Walton; brothers, Jiles (Jr) Howell, Athel Lee Howell, Samuel (Houston) Howell; daughter-in-law Donna Barker; grandson Donvontae Walton and great-grandchildren Lavontae Walton, Rian and Riah King.
The Celebration of Her Life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, 12:00pm in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the Chapel from 10:00am until the time of service. Pastor Keith T. Evans will be officiating. Interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. In accordance with Racine County mandate, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time. You may be required to wait outside until others leave the building. For the safety and security of our guests we also require those in attendance to wear a face covering. We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.
