Racine – Arlene H. Hanson, 75, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 8, 2007. She was born on March 8, 1932, daughter of the late Henry and Hansina (nee: Hansen) Johnson. Arlene was a lifetime resident and graduated from Horlick High School in 1949. On May 23, 1953 she was married to Kenneth E. Hanson in Grace Lutheran Church.

Arlene worked at SC Johnson Wax for more than 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was an active and faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church. Arlene will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and kind nature. She enjoyed backyard gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, painting, and traveling. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Steve) Garcia of West Bend, Tom (Sharon) Hanson of Elkhorn, and Janet Hanson of San Francisco, California; six grandchildren, Christine, Katie, Ken, and Chris Hanson, Alex, and Adam Garcia; great granddaughter, Estella Garcia; sister, Margaret Turinski of Portage; brothers, Wally Johnson of New Lisbon, Bobby (Joan) Johnson, and Richard Johnson both of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by husband, Kenneth; daughter, Karen Hanson; brothers, Earl Johnson and Elmer Johnson; mother and father-in-law, Clara and Eddie Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Avenue , with Rev. Thomas Chryst officiating. Internment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m., and in the church on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church have been suggested.
