Arthur "Artie" W. Chiappetta, 90, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Art was born in Racine on February 2, 1934, the son of the late Peter and Aquila (nee: Morrone) Chiappetta.

He was a 1952 graduate of St. Catherine High School. Art continued his education at the Cosmetology School, in Milwaukee. He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Art and Mary met at the Primavera Bar on High Street, started dating shortly after that. On May 21, 1960, they were married at St. Killian Church in Hartford, WI. Art owned and operated Arturo's Hair Fashions, until retiring in 1997. From 2004-2019, Art and Mary wintered at the Villages in Florida. He was a lifetime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church until 2001 when they joined St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Art was a lifetime member of the Roma Lodge, joining in 1963. He enjoyed golfing, but his passion was the time he spent doing his woodcarvings.

Surviving are his wife, of nearly 64 years, Mary; their three children, Peter Chiappetta, Mary Beth (Peter) Bach, and Ann Marie (Brad) Allbee; six grandchildren, Beth (Michael) Glenn, Molly Chiappetta, William Chiappetta, Katherine (Brian) Sytkowski, Nicole (Tony) White, and Matthew (Ellie) Allbee; four great-grandchildren, Aria, Sienna, Anthony, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.  In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Elsie (nee: Wittig) Weber; four sisters, Mary (Ernie) Rossi, Jill (Bill) Wade, Rose (Walter) Steidl, and Eva (Robert) Rawley, brother, Albert Chiappetta' sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty (Joseph) Daniels, John Weber, and Donald Weber.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph P. Matthew, and his staff, as well as the staff of Heartland Hospice of Kenosha, for the compassion and care shown to Art and his family.

Service Details

His Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Wednesday, April 17 ^th , at 11:30 a.m. Followed by full Military Honors. Visitation will be in the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Union Grove, at 3:00 p.m. that same day. Members of Roma Lodge are asked to gather at 9:45 a.m.

The family has suggested memorials to, either, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
