Obituary

Racine – Arverne Fondren left this earthly home to live eternal life, on January 11, 2023. She was born May 9, 1942, to John and Angie Daniel in Tupelo, MS. She graduated from Belden High School in May of 1962. Soon after, she relocated to Racine, WI and met the love of her life, Leon Fondren. They were married April 15, 1965 and started their family. Arverne gave her life to Christ at an early age, and after moving, she become a member of Shiloh Stronghold under the leadership of Elder Ramsey.  She served on the Mother's Board, The Tabernacle Choir and could be heard singing and praying all day long. Arverne was employed at Moxness Products for over 20 years. After her retirement, her loving and caring spirit lead her to start AR-Fon-Karing daycare service. Arverne was a loving and caring foster parent as well. She was affectionately known as Grandma to all. She touched many lives in her 80 years of life and will be missed.

She leaves behind her husband Leon Fondren. Her children Kim, Karen, Lance, Johnathan, and Henry. Bonus children Andre, Michelle, Tiffany and Neeka. Grandchildren Radhiya, Azaria, Tifashia, Aaron, Emily, Andre Jr., Dominique, and Mallory. Her siblings Jamie (Joyce) Daniel of Racine, WI; Annie Dykes and Gloria Collins of Tupelo, MS; Sister-In-Law Annie Ruth Daniel of Racine, WI; a daughter-like Niece Alandria, special great nephew Dallas, God-daughter Cedellia Bowen Fleming and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Angie Daniel; siblings Hue Thomas Daniel, Robert Daniel, Otha Elizabeth Daniel, Lenell Daniel, Cornell Gillespie and Shelia Cobb.

Service for Arverne will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Gateway Global Ministries, 1840 Howe Street, Racine 53403. Her visitation will begin at 11:00AM until the time of service. Arverne will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
