Asalee Rush was a caring Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. Surrounded by loved ones, she left this world after a lengthy struggle with her health, on May 22, 2021 at the age of 68. She was born to Tommy and Gloria Rush on November 5, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, Asalee and the Rush family relocated to Racine, WI, where she received her elementary and high school training. Asalee accepted Christ as her savior at a young age and was baptized on June 11, 1962. As an adult, Asalee went on to earn her professional certification in Cosmetology and worked as a licensed Beautician for years. Her own personal sense of style and class could be seen in her work with her clients, and she never had a dissatisfied customer. Never one to put all of her eggs in one basket, Asalee also trained and worked in various labor and factory positions to make sure her growing family had all of their needs met. Asalee loved spending time with her family and friends: cooking, playing dominoes or “talking trash” over card games and laughing at old family stories. She enjoyed getting dressed up and going out to dance and celebrate life. She loved playing music and going to the occasional concert. She was known as the “Cool Mom” and at times her place would be considered the “Kool-Aid House”, a place where kids from the neighborhood liked hanging out at. Until she physically could no longer do so, Asalee worked extremely hard and raised her children and grandchildren and contributed to her whole family in her own unique way.

Asalee is preceded in death by her father Tommy, brothers Preston and Thomas, sisters Linda and Debra, and a dear great-grandson. She is survived by her loving daughters Cynthia (Dyonyca) Conley-Rush and Dominique Rush. She will be greatly missed by her loving grandchildren LaQuan Berryhill, LaQuasha Ivory, LaTisha Berryhill, Sy’Riyah Morris, Kartier Mosley, great-grandchildren Ka’Leyiah Berryhill, Na’Khia Shannon, Marcus McFarland Jr., Ma’Sanii McFarland, and LaQuan Berryhill Jr., and special niece and nephew Shonte and Anthony Rush Jr. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving mother Gloria Rush, siblings Beverly Rush (Asalee’s Twin), Theresa (James) Calloway, Felicia (Chris) Greene, Anthony Rush and David Blackwell. Asalee also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and special friends Shirley Mooney, Vanessa McMorris and Airkas Patterson.

Her beautiful smile, sense of humor and laughter will be sorely missed, but we wish loving peace for our dear Asalee, until we all shall meet again!

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 11:00am in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the chapel 10:00 – 11:00am

The Perfect Friend: Asslee you rejoice with me over small triumphs, or hardly notice when life overwhelm me, but you never disappoint me. When I longed for help or encouragement, you always had the right words for the situation. You understood my thoughts in mind or an intention of my heart ❤️ I was never alone because you were always there beside me distance nor circumstances will never separate us. I followed your lead with complete confidence. Your in a better place then the ones whom will miss your presence beyond reason fly high my ANGEL 😇 until that glorious day we’re flying side by side together again. “ My Perfect Friend”. Special thanks to Mike Langendorf….many tears of joy overwhelm the family. You are a very unique person.  I cry because you know how to make the best out of any situation. You lay my husband away beautifully and there are not words that I can really express how grateful I am. All the people at your funeral have my gratitude for the love and care you showed us.   You all are truly God fearing people who care about people.  Thanks and may God bless you all richly!   The Coleman’s
