Barbara Ann Anderson

Jun 7, 1936 – Jun 13, 2006

Racine- Barbara Ann Anderson (nee: Broecker), 70, unexpectedly died Tuesday evening, June 13 at All Saints Hospital. Barbara Ann was born in Racine June 7, 1936, the daughter of Stella and John Broecker. She was married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on June 20, 1959 to John L. Anderson. Barbara graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1956. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a machinist at Gormac Products for over 25 years. Barb leaves to warmly cherish wonderful memories of her life, her husband John; daughters, Jennifer A. (Don) Lightner and Katherine M. Olsen and special friend Charlie Puder; her loving grandchildren are Michael Olsen and fiancee Lisa Kaminski, Rachael Olsen, Erica Olsen and fiancee Dave Beranis, Peter Olsen and Nick Olsen, Joshua and Jacob Lightner; great granddaughter, Brianna Uick. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Stella Marie; and her in-laws, Norma and Lester V. Anderson. She was a devote member of St. Lucy’s Catholic church for over 40 years. Barbara loved collecting antiques, especially lace lady figurines. She was an avid reader, a superb cook, loved cross-word puzzles, playing cards, mystery and musical comedy movies. She joked that the Beach Boys wrote their song, Barbara Ann, for her. She was one of those rare people who never had a bad word to say about anyone, to meet her was to like her. She enjoyed a unique sense of humor and was most happy in the company of her children and grand children and close friends. In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 10:30 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Visitation will be at St. Lucy Church on Monday from 9-10:30 am.
