Barbara Ann Helding, 74, passed away at Froedtert Medical Center on Monday, February 1, 2016. She was born in Racine on October 9, 1941, the daughter of Russel and Lily (nee:  Andersen) Kwapil.  Barbara graduated from Horlick High School in 1959.  On October 24, 1959, She was married to Curtis L. Helding at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Barbara worked at Oster's before her children were born and then after they were all in school she started working in the office of Our Savior's Lutheran Church until she retired January 23, 2005.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Curtis L. Helding of Racine; her children, Crystal (Mark) Heinen of Racine, Catherine (Keith) Webster, Cheryl (Raymond) Pye both of Mt. Pleasant, and Frank (Barbara) Helding of Sturtevant; 9 grandchildren, Aaron (Chelsea) Dunk, Robert (Momoko) Dunk, Sean (Megan) Dunk, Carisa (Lucien) Nemath, Kyle Webster, Cassandra Webster, Caitlin Webster, Kurtis Webster, and Krystle Ramsey; 11 great-grandchildren; her mother, Lily Kwapil; sisters, JoAnne Cruz and Susan (Peter) Andersen; brother, Russell (Jane) Kwapil; sisters-in-law, Diane (Carl) Larrabee and Mary Helding. She also leaves behind her special friends Wally & Julie Nelson and Don and Karen Greidanus as well as many other relatives and friends. In addition to her father, Russel Kwapil she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Grace Nemath.

All are invited to visit with Barbara's family at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Avenue, on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 10 to 12. In keeping with her wishes, a private celebration of her life will take place on Saturday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are suggested.
