RACINE – Barbara Kovacik, 58, passed away at Becker-Shoop Rehabilitation Center on Monday, September 21, 2015.

She was born in Racine on June 26, 1957, the daughter of the late Eric and Ilse (nee: Roghan) Pudel.  On December 21, 1989, she married Jeffrey S. Kovacik.

Barbara was gentle and kind, enjoying peaceful projects such as crocheting, knitting, reading, writing letters to family and friends, cooking and baking, making jam and being in the company of her dogs.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband Jeff, Barbara is survived by her son, Daniel Pudel of Racine; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sandra Thielen, Edward (Sheri) Kovacik, Dean (Peggy) Kovacik all of Racine, Colleen (Michael) Gaynor of Oak Creek, Jay (Mary) Kovacik of Camp Douglas, Kurt (Patty) Kovacik of Racine; many dear nieces and nephews; special friends, Darlene, Mary and Jeff; and her loving pups, Susie and Bandit.   In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother, Peter Pudel and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beverly and Edward Kovacik.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2015, for a visitation and time to meet with Barbara's family from 4-6 pm.   A service remembering and celebrating her life will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating.

Barbara's family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and staff at All Saints, the Visiting Nurses and Becker Shoop for the professional and loving attention she received while under their care . A very special thank you goes out to Chaplain Mark Grobner who consoled Barb during some of her most difficult moments.
