Barbara Wheeler

Nov 15, 1936 – Jul 6, 2011

Tucson, Arizona – Barbara Ann Wheeler, 74, formerly of Racine, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2011 with her son Kevin at her side. She was born in Racine on November 15, 1936, the only child of Rudolph and Frances (nee: Greco) Naiberg.  She graduated from Park High School in 1954.  After her children were a bit older she went to work for multiple years at Richmond Brother’s Men’s Clothing Store until their closing and then for several years at Builder’s Square shortly before she moved to Arizona. Her main career though in life was being a mom. Barbara resided in Racine until moving to Arizona 15 years ago due to her health.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael and Kevin, both of Tucson, Arizona. She is further survived by David Laing of Tucson, AZ whom she called her adopted son; her grandchildren, Erin, Danielle, Sean, and Renee whom she so fondly called her little monkey; great grandson; Trenton all of Wisconsin; several cousins; a number of good friends; and her little wiener dog that was always at her side, Newton.   She was preceded in death by her parents and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 11, 2011 with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Visitation with her family will be in the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, and Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. Private entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.  In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to either Strauss Manor, 370 N. Pantano Road, Tucson, AZ 85710 where she resided for most of her time in Tucson; or Soreo Pathways Hospice, 1632 N. Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ, 85716.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

The funeral service was just beautiful and very warming to everyone including my family. All the pictures they did and the employees were just fantastic. This is one funeral home I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to feel comfortable and to be treated like family. I can’t say enough good things because it was just such a warm welcome. Thank you to Mark and Mike. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
