
Ben C. Bresnahan, 93, passed away in the Beck-Shoop Center, on Sunday, January 17, 2010. He was born in Sauk Rapids, MN on May 19, 1916 the son of the late Cornelius and Mary (nee: Callahan) Bresnahan. Mr. Bresnahan served his country as a cook with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed in Texas and later Panama. On May 29, 1954, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, MN, he was united in marriage to the former Cathryn Rengel. Mr. Bresnahan had been employed by S. C. Johnson & Son for over 27 years. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the Johnson 20 Year Club, and J.M.B.A. Mr. Bresnahan enjoyed working in the outdoors and was a fanatic about the appearance of his lawn, a trait he has passed on to his son. Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 year, Cathryn; their children, Harley (Mary Ann) Bresnahan, and Colleen (Jon) Gename, all of Racine; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Bresnahan, of Philadelphia, PA, Rory (Inbal) Bresnahan, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Candace Gename, Brian Gename, and Kyle Gename, all of St. Paul, MN; 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bresnahan was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas 3 brothers, Wylie, John, and Daniel Bresnahan, and 9 sisters, Esther Bretz, Rose Mauch, Myrtle Kampert, Connie Williams, Natalie Craig, Winifred Bresnahan, Julie Gebhardt, Alice Burke, and Lucille Weninger. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in St. Edward Catholic Church, 15th and Grove Ave., with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. The family has suggested memorials to St. Edward Catholic Church or Hospice Alliance. The family would like to publicly thank the staff of Becker-Shoop Center and Hospice Alliance for the care and compassion shown Ben and his family.
