Racine – Beverly Jean Muzenski; age 78; passed away at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Saturday, March 28, 2015 surrounded by all of her family.
Beverly was born in Racine on January 3, 1937 to the late Nels and Esther (nee: Higgins) Andersen. She attended Racine area Schools and graduated from William Horlick High School.
On June 24, 1961, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, John Melvin Muzenski, Jr., who preceded her in death on November 27, 1979. Beverly started her working career at Higgin’s HobNob Restaurant. She then worked for Piggly Wiggly, retiring after 25 years of service.
Beverly was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and the Moose Club. Among her interests, she was an avid bowler, golfer (as a player & TV tournament spectator), gambler – visiting Las Vegas and Potawatomi as many times as she could. she was also an avid sports fan – especially of the Green Bay Packers & Wisconsin Badgers. Above all, Beverly loved attending family gatherings and spending every available moment with her adored grandchildren. She will be remembered for her willingness to do anything for anybody (wanting nothing in return) – and for thinking about everyone else before herself….even in her final days.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Jeff) Carlson; son, Jeffrey Muzenski; grandchildren, Ashlee (fiancé, Caleb Barkley) Carlson, Kelli Carlson, Jonathan Carlson and Lauren Muzenski; sisters, Pat (George) Krizmanich and Linda (Mark) Baker; brothers, Nels “Butch” (Debbie) Andersen, Jr. and Bob Andersen; brothers-in-law, Robert (Annie) Muzenski, William (Jane) Muzenski and Jean King; sisters-in-law, Patricia (Martin) Holbus, Marie Andersen and Greta Andersen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Richard Andersen; sister, Joyce (Charles) Dawson; in-laws, John and Gladys (nee: Kupczak) Muzenski; and sister-in-law, Rita (Chester) Piotrak.
A memorial service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 am. In memory of Beverly, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.

Sue. I am so sorry for your loss. You were the best daughter your mother could has wanted. I know Bev was realist, especially when it came to her heath. But the realalitty of losing your mom sucks. I am out of town and won’t be able to attend her service. I will be thinking of you and your family. Take care and may your mom rest in peace. With my love Anna (McIntosh)
