Racine – Beverly June Smith, 81, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was born in Eau Claire on March 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (nee: Buckmeyer) Greene. On November 12, 1954 she was married to George Smith Jr. Mr. Smith preceded her in death in 1989.

Beverly began working in the nursery at St Luke's Hospital in the 1960's, and then spent 20 years driving school children for Jeleco Bus Company. She returned to nursing in the 1980's, working at Westview Nursing home, and then Kenosha Care Center until she retired in 1995. Beverly enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Packers and the Cubs, and game shows on TV. She loved the time she spent visiting with her grandchildren; the company of her cat, and her dog "Baby".

Beverly is survived by her children: George (Helen) Smith of Kenosha, Theresa (James) Pirk, Sue (Paul) Fawcett, Cynthia Smith, Dorraine (Craig) Pirk, David (Amy Bucko-Dower) Smith all of Racine, and John (Ivonne) Smith of Janesville; 23 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters and brother: Barbara DeRosier of Burlington, Bonnie Peterson and David Peterson both in Texas. Beverly was also preceded in death by her brothers: Ralph Greene and Donald Greene.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11am with Rev. Ron Auch sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation in the funeral home will be Thursday evening from 5pm-7pm; and Friday beginning at 10am.
