Private family services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery in Racine.
Biven Johnson was born on April 12, 1937, in Malakoff, Texas, to George and Georgia (Hollingsworth) Johnson. He attended public schools in Malakoff, Texas, where upon graduation, he was honored with the Valedictorian and Rotary Club Awards. He attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, and Community College in Denver, Colorado. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Bevin was united in marriage to Betty McKinley on October 28, 1968, in Denver, Colorado, where they resided until 2003. Upon retirement, they relocated to Racine, Wisconsin, to be closer to Betty’s family where Biven could enjoy his love for fishing with his brother-in-law.
Biven had many community and fraternal endeavors and accomplishments. He was a member of Scott United Methodist Church where he served on the Usher Board and was Vice-President of the United Methodist Men’s Organization. He was also a dedicated member of the NAACP. In all the affiliate houses of the Masonry, he served as Thrice Potent Master of Zerbel Lodge of Perfection #33 and belonged to the Shriners Syrian Temple #49. He was honored with the Sublime Prince of the Year Award.
Biven was employed by Continental Airlines in 1968 where he worked as a customer service agent for twenty-three years until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Georgia Johnson, and eight siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Betty (McKinley)Johnson, his son, Clifford Robinson, his grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
