Service Details

His Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on March 2nd at 12:00 O’clock Noon. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Dwight B. Lassiter, 70, of Racine passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born in Racine on January 28, 1956, the son of James and Nina Mae (Powell) Lassiter.

As a young boy, Dwight was a member of Boy Scouts of America. He attended William Horlick High School in Racine. For over 50 years, he was self-employed as a professional painter throughout the state of Wisconsin. He retired in 2022 as the owner of Dwight’s Professional Painting.

Dwight loved helping and spending time with family and friends. He was a people person with an affectionate smile. He was well known everywhere, there wasn’t a person that he didn’t know. Dwight was a proud member of the AA community for over 30 years. He was a member of the Alano Club, Grove Club, and RACO. In his free time, he volunteered and he enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving are his daughter, Nakeia Watson; one granddaughter, Diajah Watson; one grandson; loving mother, Nina Mae Lassiter, of Racine; two brothers, Joseph Lassiter, of Milwaukee, and Dwayne Lassiter, of Racine; one sister, Eureka Bell, of Racine; one aunt Tishie Harton, of Elkhart, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lassiter; brother, James “Phillip” Lassiter; and best friend, Tom White.

Dwight will be truly missed!
