Brian James Nelsen, age 77, passed away peacefully at Hospice Alliance-Hospice House on Thursday evening, January 25, 2024.

Brian was born in Racine on December 17, 1946 and was a graduate of William Horlick High School "Class of 1965". Brian faithfully served our country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He also served our community as a firefighter with Racine Fire Department for nearly 31 years. When he wasn't working, Brian enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Surviving are his daughter, Michelle (Bobby) Conley; son, Jason Nelsen; grandchildren, Amiee Conley and Johnathan Conley; sister, Karen Nelsen; longtime best-friend, Laura Huston; close friends & traveling partners, Gregg & Deborah Mandli and Rick & Heather Schaefer; other relatives and the many friends who were like family from Dickie's. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Elroy Nelsen; and mother, Mary Bunck.

A brief memorial service will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 6:00 pm. A gathering will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
