Calvin Singleton, 60, passed away Tuesday May 24, 2022, at his home in Racine, WI. He was born in Racine, WI on February 18, 1962 to Wallace Sr. and Aretha Singleton. Calvin gave his life to Christ at a young age and was a proud member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1980 graduate of Washington Park High School where he was an honors student for 3 years. He went on to attend UW Parkside where he played on the tennis team. After Parkside, he also enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. Calvin has since held various jobs down through the years but one thing remained consistent…He took pride in doing a good job, whatever it was, and was always willing to help even without being asked. Calvin was a avid tennis player and played in some WTA sponsored tournaments. Other hobbies included pickle ball and bicycling.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Aretha Singleton, his father, Wallace Singleton Sr., and his sister Sandra Chambers. He is survived by his sister, Linda (Odell) Hughes of Mishawaka Indiana and his brother, Wallace (Gwen) Singleton Jr. Of Racine Wisconsin. Calvin also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will truly miss him and cherish his memory.

I remember him being so athletic, being good in whatever he was involved in. If you didn’t have a smile, Calvin always had one to give you. He had plenty of smiles to share, no matter what. That’s the one thing that stood out about him: He always wore a smile whenever you saw him!😊 Rest in peace, cuz.

Calvin was always helpful to me and often kept me company and looked for me. Calvin often attended our Church service or Bible Study. He had passion to be of help. To be absent from the body allows us to be present with the Lord. I will truly miss Calvin; but it consoles me to know he knew the Lord and did his best in service. Our sincere condolences to the family.

  28. Reverend David R. Green/Gregg Chapel says

Calvin was passionate in being a helper to those he knew. He often kept me company or attended our Worship service or Bible study. He strived to be a good neighbor and friend. We know to be absent from the body allows the opportunity to be present with the Lord. I will truly miss Calvin’s presence in the neighborhood and community, but it consoles me to know he had a relationship with the Lord. Our sincere condolence to the family. God will sustain you.

Testimonials

March 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.

Love you,

Jody Burlingame Wagner
