Obituary

Racine – Carl Gene Wade, age 84, was called Home to his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 15, 2016 from the Primrose Retirement Community.

Carl was born in Racine, Wisconsin on August 7, 1931 to the late Louis and Nellie (nee: Molton) Wade. He was a 1949 graduate of Washington Park High School. Carl faithfully served our country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

On March 31, 1951 in Racine, Carl was united in marriage with the love of his life, Mariann Evelyn (nee: Erickson). He was employed as an electrician for his entire working career, retiring from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee as the Electrical Supervisor.

With a profound Christian faith, Carl attended Racine Bible Church. Among his interests, he enjoyed gardening and home improvements. Carl was forever helping others with projects – never for a fee or wanting anything in return. Above all, he loved spending time with his entire family.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Mariann; their children, Jeffrey (Sandra) Wade, Dale (Rebecca) Wade, Glenn Wade and Carla (Robert) Riehbrandt; grandchildren, Adam (Gwen) Wade, Jennifer (Mike) Boyd, Naomi (Bob) Gerwin, Nick (Leticia) Wade; Julia, Joel & Paul Riehbrandt; 6 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Carol (Dick) Buhler; brother-in-law, Raymond Davis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his beloved daughter-in-law, Vicki Wade; sisters, Geraldine Blaesing and Margie (David) Hurst; brothers, Hubert (Jean) Wade and Thurman (Barbara) Wade; and sister-in-law, Beverly Davis.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 am in Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring Street, with Pastor Darien Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 10-11 am. Memorials to Racine Bible Church (for the use of mission work) has been suggested.

A special note of thanks to the wonderful staff at Primrose Retirement Community and to Seasons Hospice for the compassionate care and support given in Carl's time of need. May God bless all of you!
