CAROLE MAE PETERSON
RACINE – Mrs. Carole Peterson, 79, passed away at WFH – All Saints on Monday, February 16, 2015.
A lifelong resident of Racine, Carole was born on July 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Leonard and Pearl (nee: Seybert) Borchardt. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1953. On January 26, 1957, she married the love of her life, Bernard George Peterson. He preceded her in death just a few short months ago on October 21, 2014.
Carole was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling with Bernie on trips to Arizona and northern Wisconsin to visit family. She especially had fond memories of their 50th Anniversary excursion to Hawaii. In addition, Carole enjoyed attending Grace Lutheran Church, living by Lake Michigan, knitting, sewing and watching Packers games with family.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Denise) Peterson, Tracy (Jeff) Harris, Tobian (Deborah) Peterson, Sheri (Don) Renguette all of Racine, Lisa (Dan) Swanson of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Erin and Trevor Peterson, Caitlin and Zachary Harris, Stephan Peterson, Autumn Hejl, Jeni, Sarah and Carly Renguette, Alyssa, Kayla and Tyler Swanson, Braden and Logan Bogdanovic; her sister and brother, Linda Ward, Randy (Colleen) Borchardt; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Peterson, Robert (Roberta) Peterson, Frances (Ron) Gehrke, Faith (August) Kasten, Janice Borchardt, Hank (Camille) Burmeister; her godchild, Sandy (Tim) Robinson as well as many dear nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lyle (Doris) Borchardt; sister, Norma (John) Schmidt; and brother-in-laws, John Borchardt, Jack (Vi) Peterson, Stan Peterson, Bud (Arlene) Peterson and Howie Peterson.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, February 20, 2015 for a visitation to meet with her family from 10 a.m. until noon. A service celebrating and remembering Carole’s life will take place at noon with Rev. Randal A. Poppe officiating. A procession to the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove for interment will follow. Memorials to the Wisconsin Shriners Tripoli Shrine Center and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin have been suggested.
The Peterson family is very grateful to the ICU unit and 3rd floor staff at All Saints for the compassionate care that was extended to their mother and grandmother as well as to Pastor Randal Poppe for the spiritual guidance and prayers during Carole’s last days. Your work and vocation is truly appreciated.
