RACINE – Carolyn Louise McClelland, age 64, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded with the love of her family, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Carolyn was born in Racine on January 4, 1958 to the late S.A. Boykin and Wiladron (nee: Pulliam) Boykin. She was a graduate of JI Case High School. Carolyn was united in marriage with Terry L. McClelland, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2007.

Carolyn was baptized in Christ at Second Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Mack C. Davis. She had attended New Covenant Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Tony Visor. During her illness, Carolyn regularly watched live streams by Hope City Church. Carolyn worked many jobs throughout her life, but she particularly loved working for Racine Unified School District, where she was a teacher's assistant at Dr. Jones Elementary School. Carolyn used her caring nature and outgoing personality to engage the children and was quickly a favorite among many. Carolyn loved shopping, cooking, and hosting family gatherings.

Surviving are her children, Tahirah McClelland, Kierra McClelland, Corry (Natasha) Norris and Tanisha Norris; grandchildren, Ciara, Jaden, Cortasia, Nyasia, Khaliq, Taylor, and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Kaia, India, Kacion, Khaliq Jr., Ariana, and Legend; brothers, Samuel "Tony" (Mattie) Boykin, Tyrone (fiancé, Peggy Fenske) Boykin and Terrance Boykin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services celebrating Carolyn's life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 am. Viewing will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
