Carolyn A. Winkowski, 86, of Sturtevant, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, after a long battle with breast Cancer and lymphoma, on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She was born in Stevens Point, WI on January 8, 1934, the daughter of the late Frederick and Corinne (nee: Johnson) Schrader.

On October 23, 1954, in St. Veronica Catholic Church, in Chicago, she was united in marriage to Edwin J. Winkowski. Carolyn was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and working puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved dog, and watching original episodes of Perry Mason and her favorite soap opera.

Surviving are her husband, Edwin; their children, Susan Bomhack, Janet (Chet) Balwierczak, Cathy O'Brien; Michael (Kari) Winkowski, and John (Anna) Winkowski; son-in-law, Rick Carlson; grandchildren, Lisa (James),Rob, Theresa (Brandon),  Melissa, Kristen, Sarah, Connor, Aidan, Raymon, Patrick, Lonndon, and Alexandra;  and great-grandchildren, Nora, Lydia, Triston, and Lynn. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Carlson, son-in-law, Mark Bomhack, and her brothers and sisters.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and the entire staff of Aurora Hospital and the Aurora At Home Hospice Care team, as well as her oncologist, Dr. Mullane and his entire staff for their loving and compassionate care shown to Carolyn and her family.

Service Details

Relatives and friends are asked to meet with the family Tuesday, September 1, 2020, atSt. Sebastian Church, 3126-95 ^th St. Sturtevant, WI 53177 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the visitation with the Mass immediately following at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Vathappallil officiating.  For those coming from Illinois on I-94 please use exit 337 (KR) and turn right at the stop sign continue east until you reach 90 ^th St. and turn left, continue going north until you reach Mt. Pleasant St. and turn left it will dead end at the church.

Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
