Cathy J. Fojtik, 58, passed away in Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, with her family at her side, on Friday, January 23, 2009. Cathy was born in Racine on August 4, 1950, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (nee: Kronick) Helker. She had been employed by K-Mart as the office manager for over 20 years. She enjoyed feeding the wildlife in her backyard, gambling, and gardening. She was known for her "green thumb". Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anne Murray; 3 grandsons, Christian, Braiden and Riley; her loving companion of 8 years, James Moran, all of Racine; mother, Barbara (Charlie) Braun of Neshkoro, WI; father, Donald (Nancy Amo) Helker; 3 brothers, Dan Helker, Doug (Nancy) Helker all of Racine and Dave (Karen) Rozic of Madison; 3 sisters, Terry (Leo Firkus) Unterbrink of Union Grove, Patti Fandry of Racine and Debbie Helker of Madison. Cathy was preceded in death by 2 sons, Theodore and Michael Murray; husband, Joseph Fojtik and brother, Donald Helker. In keeping with Cathy's wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be able to meet with the family in the funeral home on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
