Obituary

Cathy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Harry and Dorothy (née Lassa) Mitchell. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Arthur Hicks, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with love, companionship, and countless cherished memories. The two shared 47 wonderful years of marriage before Art's passing in 2025.

Throughout her working years, Cathy was employed in an administrative role at Racine Metal Fab, where she dedicated her time and talents.

Cathy and Art were avid cyclists who shared a passion for exploring the open road together. As longtime members and leaders of the KR Bike Club for several decades, they enjoyed countless rides, adventures, and lasting friendships with fellow cycling enthusiasts. When she wasn't riding her bicycle, Cathy could often be found enjoying another favorite pastime, knitting. She was active in local knitting groups, where she shared her creativity, talents, and friendship.

Cathy also faced the life-long challenges of living with Type 1 diabetes. She took an active role in mastering her own care, becoming remarkably knowledgeable and independent in managing her health. She was also a passionate advocate for others living with diabetes, offering encouragement, understanding, and support to those facing similar challenges.

Cathy will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, remarkable strength, honesty, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She wore her heart on her sleeve and embraced life with determination and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impression on many people fortunate enough to know her. Above all, she treasured the relationships she built throughout her life, and the love she shared with her family and friends will remain in their hearts forever.

Cathy is survived by her loving daughter, Kristine Page; siblings, Karen (Rich) Ramsey, Mark (Barb) Mitchell, and Kristine Mitchell (Steve Wagner); sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janet (Steve) Bavers, Ken Hicks, and Jean Williams; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Art, Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Mitchell; and her brother-in-law, Jim Hicks.

In accordance with Cathy's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be planned for a later date, when family and friends can gather to share memories and honor a life so beautifully lived.
