It is with heavy hearts and bittersweet memories that we announce the upcoming services to honor and celebrate the life of Charles Turbush. Charles passed away on July 18, 2024, in Oak Creek. Born on August 7, 1934, Charles was a proud graduate of Walworth High School (now Big Foot HS) in 1952 and later went on to further his education at Milton College, where he graduated in 1956. His dedication and sense of duty led him to serve his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 at Fort Carson, CO.

On December 29, 1960, Charles exchanged vows with the love of his life, Joan L. Martin, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering bond that would withstand the tests of time. Joan preceded him in death on June 27, 2001.

After his military service, Charles pursued a fulfilling career as a billing supervisor at Diamond Transportation, where he dedicated many years of his life before retiring in 1999. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles was also known for his beautiful singing voice and his passion for harmonizing. He was a cherished 60+ year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and sang in the esteemed barbershop groups, The Racine Dairy Statesman and The New Tradition Chorus.

Throughout his life, Charles was a devoted member of the Tuesday Optimists, where he shared his passion for service and camaraderie with his fellow members. Additionally, he found solace and community at Faithbridge Church in Franksville, formerly known as Evangelical United Methodist Church.

Charles Turbush's legacy lives on through his loving children, Carole Knudtson, Anne Turbush, and Doug (Pranee) Turbush, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved father. He is further survived and cherished by his wonderful grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Ryan, and Jack.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clara (nee: Peters) Turbush, as well as his beloved wife, Joan.

Please join us in celebrating Charles's life at a visitation to be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10:00 am. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am. Interment will be private for the family at West Lawn Memorial Park.

We invite all who knew and loved Charles to come together to commemorate his remarkable life, share stories, and reflect on the impact he had on all of us. May we find solace in our memories and comfort in the knowledge that Charles will always hold a special place in our hearts.
