Sturtevant – Charlotte Ann Zboril (nee: Bauer); age 83; passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Monday, August 8, 2016.
Charlotte was born in Wheeling, Illinois on November 4, 1932 to the late Joseph and Theresa (nee: Stanke) Bauer. She graduated from Washington Park High School. She was united in marriage to Leslie Eugene Zboril. Together, they owned / operated Village Food & Liquor (corner of 90th Street & Hwy 11 in Sturtevant) for many years – until retiring in 1985. After Les died in 1986, Charlotte went back to work at the store for the new owners, the Shah family, retiring a second time just a few years ago. Sis enjoyed tending to her flower garden and spending time on her computer…..but it was her family that brought her the most joy in life.
Surviving are her children, Frank Zboril, Randy Zboril and Terry (Jeff) Lory; grandchildren, Michael, Sarah and Matthew Lory; sister, Virginia McCabe; brother, James (Pamela) Bauer; twin brother, Charles (Janet) Bauer; sisters-in-law, Delores “Dollie” Bauer, Mary Bauer, Debbie Bauer, Marti (Wayne) Fuller, Audrey Bonnar and Jeannette Berbaum; brother-in-law, Wallace Patzke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sis was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Patzke and Frances “Tootie” Smetana; brothers, Donald, Joseph, Robert and Gene Bauer; and brothers-in-law, Danny Bonnar, Tom Berbaum and Bernie McCabe.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11 am. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity has been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to the staff of Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints for the compassionate care and support given in Charlotte’s time of need.

My thoughts are with the Zboril family at this time. I hardly have a childhood memory that does not include Charlotte. A beautiful person that will be missed.

So sad to hear of Char’s passing. Thoughts are with the Zboril family. Sis was always more than just a neighbor, almost part of the family. She will be missed by all of us.
