Cheryl L. Sigrist, 53, passed away at Froedtert Hospital, in Milwaukee, on Friday, November 1, 2019, surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was born in Racine, on December 3, 1965, the daughter of the late Walter E. and Marjorie A. (nee: Sus) Davis Sr.
Cheryl graduated from Washington Park High School and attended Carthage College. She had been employed by Modine Mfg. for over 30 years. On June 30, 1990, she was united in marriage to her best friend and loving companion, for over 29 years, William "Bill" Sigrist. Cheryl and Bill attended Great Lakes Church. Cheryl was a faithful Green Bay Packer fan. She also volunteered at Our Harmony and anything that had to do with Cystic Fibrosis. Cheryl was huge dog lover, enjoyed baking, and eating and giving out pretzels.
Surviving are her husband, Bill; children, Melissa (Paul) Langner, and Tim (Krystle) Sigrist, all of Racine; grandchildren, Nathan Fortier, Austin Sigrist, Ella Langner, and Landon Sigrist; brother Walter E. (Susan) Davis Jr., of Sturtevant; sister, Tammie (Vic) Rysdam, of Oshkosh; mother-in-law, Patricia Ellen Sigrist ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Susan) Sigrist, Michael (Christy) Sigrist, Jenny (Jim) Erickson, all of Racine, nieces, nephews, and her dog and faithful companion, "Ringo" other relatives, the surviving Three Musketeers, and so many friends it's impossible to list them all. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by, brother, Phil Davis, father-in-law, William Bert Sigrist, and her dogs, Alley and Lucky. The family would like to thank the entire Intensive Care Unit Staff at Froedtert Hospital.
Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, November 10 th , at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Rex Hamiltonofficiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Association ,the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 400 S. Executive Dr. Suite 109, Brookfield, WI 53005, or the Wisconsin Humane Society-Racine Campus, 2706 Chicory Rd. Racine, WI 53403.
