MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Cindy Jean Hansen, 79, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, November 25, 2022.
She was born in Racine on November 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Glenn and Winifred (nee Dibble) Jensen. On September 21, 1963, she married James C. Hansen at Holy Communion Lutheran Church. They just celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Cindy worked as a CNA at Southern Wisconsin Center for 19 years, retiring in 2009.
Cindy enjoyed bowling, listening to music, especially Kris Kristofferson, dancing, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, General Hospital, crossword puzzles, and traveling to Las Vegas, Florida, and Mexico. She had very special fond memories of her trip to Australia.
In addition to her loving husband, James, Cindy is survived by her daughters and sons, Kim Johnson, Kris Manske, Danny (Sara) Hansen, and Dave Hansen. She is further survived by seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her brother, Leigh Jensen; her brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank (Maryann) Waldron, John (Lane) Hansen, Fred (Kathy) Hansen, Linda Hansen; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Hansen; her granddaughter, Mallory Manske; her sister, Patricia (Dwight) O'Brien; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanore and Arnold Hansen; and her loving dog, Toby, who passed away last year after 17 years as a member of their family.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, December 9, 2022, for a visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A service remembering and celebrating Cindy's life will follow at 4:00 p.m.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Katherine and Nancy, for the loving and professional attention she received while under their care.
In the eyes of her grandchildren, Cindy will always be 25.
