Racine – Clarence O. Stapleman, age 89, passed away at home, surrounded with the love of family, early Friday, October 24, 2025.
A lifetime resident, Clarence was born in Racine on August 2, 1936 to the late Clarence O. Stapleman Sr. and Mary Ann (nee: Kissh) Stapleman. He was a 1954 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. Born with the gift to gab, Clarence began his sales career as the assistant manager of Richman Bros. Clothing in Elmwood Plaza. During that time, he interviewed and hired an associate by the name of Loretta “Lorie” (nee: Young). Sparks flew between to two….they were united in marriage on February 1, 1964 in St. Joseph’s Church.
Eventually, Clarence became the area sales representative for Lorillard Tobacco Company for over 23 years. He was a proud & faithful member of Racine Bible Church where he was active in Adult Bible Fellowship. A man who appreciated the simple things in life, Clarence enjoyed gardening and yardwork. Above all, he was a proud and dedicated family man.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Lorie; their children, Jon (Tracy) Stapleman, Tracey (Jeff) Exner and Scott (Kari) Stapleman; grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Abner, Kayla (Fernando) Luna; Daniel (Lydalis), Michael (fiancé, Delaney Jensen) and David Stapleman; great-grandchildren, Matthew Abner; Eliana and Jeremiah Luna; Anastacia and Melody Stapleman; sister, Susan Milne; sisters-in-law, Verda Trout and Marilyn Anspaugh; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by Lorie’s parents, Carl and Louise Young; and brothers-in-law, Fred Milne, Bill Trout and James Anspaugh.

Albert Hadady says
My sincere condolences to Lorie and family. I’m sure he’s with the Lord.
I remember Clarence since I was a kid. His maternal grandmother and my maternal grandfather are brother and sister making us cousins. Even though he is nine years older, he always talked to me and made me feel more like a friend than a kid.
Many good memories for me.
Dennis and Beth Durik says
Our deepest sympathy Lori to you and your children. As children we cousins shared many good times he will be missed.
Susan Milne says
He raised you up on eagles wings made you to shine like the sun and holds you in the palm of his hands. You didn’t need to wait to 2007 to reconize Jesus. He was with you the day you were born and the day you received the blessed baptism waters. He has been with you all of your days. You have fought the good fight and deserve the joy of heaven. The conversation we had was the last one we had when we talked of our childhood and our family. You were loved. When you became a man you were respected.
Rest in peace big brother.
Your loving sister
