Cora "Dolly"
Ann Rolain
Dec 6, 1934 — Mar 14, 2026
Cora "Dolly" Rolain, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Sturtevant on Saturday evening, March 14, 2026.
Cora was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 6, 1934 to the late Emmett and Cecile (nee: Long) Dorion. As a baby, she was so petite that her family placed her in a small cozy shoe box next to the stove, to keep her warm, and one of her siblings said "she looks like a little Dolly". For the remainder of her 91 years of life, she was affectionately known to everyone as Dolly.
On January 8, 1955 in Rhinelander, WI, Dolly was united in marriage with the love of her life, David L. Rolain. Sadly, he passed away on December 13, 2001.
She fulfilled her dream of loving her family as a full-time mom. Dolly was a proud member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She had enjoyed camping, crafts, cooking and manicuring her yard – even in her later years. Above all, Dolly cherished every moment with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, John Rolain, Linda Rolain and David A. Rolain; grandchildren, Angela (Todd) Sulivan, Jonathan Rolain, Jessica (Joe Capobianco), Joshua (Katie) Hermes and Mariah (Andrew) Andruskvitch; great-grandchildren, Riley & Kayla Sullivan; Gaige & Hailey Rolain; Ethan & Holden Capobianco; Hailey Rae & Drew Andruskvitch; and Landon Hermes; sister, Margaret Fuhst; sister-in-law, Joan Kurilla; brother-in-law, Richard (Lynn) Rolain; 11-year canine companion, Holly; other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolly was preceded in death by her beloved son, Thomas, who died at age 14 on October 2, 1971; brothers, Bob, John "Jack", Donald "Dutch" and Emmett Jr; sisters, Florence "Tiny", Dorothy & Frances; and brothers-in-law, Danny & James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11:00 am in St. Sebastian Catholic Church (3126 95 th Street in Sturtevant) with Fr. Domenic J. Roscioli officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, March 22 nd , from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to loyal friends, Roger, Al & Russ, being there for Mom in her time of need. May God bless all of you!
