Racine, WI – Cornell Person, age 66 passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He was born on November 19, 1953, in Racine, Wisconsin to Elbert L. Person and Annie W. (nee: Lewis Williams) Person. Cornell Person was united in marriage to Anita Bert Merriweather on June 30, 1989. He was affectionately known as "Peany" by family and friends. He was a kid at heart who believed that ice cream could be served as breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. He lived in a world of his own, set his own rules and kept his circle small.
He leaves to cherish his memory 2 children, Richard Locke of Canton, OH and Raydel Locke of Miami, FL; 3 grandchildren Jordan Locke of Newport News, VA, Layla Locke of Philadelphia, PA and Daiyanna Locke of Suffolk, VA; his sister Margie (Lawrence) Hood of Racine, WI.; 2 brothers Elbert Person Jr. of Milwaukee, WI and Tyrone Person of Racine, WI.; brother in law Leroy A. Williams Sr. of Racine, WI and his sister in law Desire' Person of Milwaukee, WI. He is further survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Person; father Elbert L Person; mother, Annie W. Person; sister, Carol Ann Williams; brother, Johnny Person; paternal grandparents Lewis S. and Jencie Person and his maternal grandparents Lizzie B. Alexander and Hunter Williams.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home, 4600 County Line Rd., Racine, WI. Public Visitation will be in the chapel from 4-6pm and The Private Family Hour will begin at 6pm.
Due to the increased activity with the coronavirus pandemic only 25 people will be allowed in the building at a time during the visitation, you may be required to wait until others leave the building. Only 25 designated people will be allowed to remain in the building for Family Hour. The State of Wisconsin mandates for the safety and security of all guests, that those in attendance are required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing requirements.
We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.
