Racine- Cortez Earl, 51 was called home by his Lord and Savior, unexpectedly at his residence on Friday January 22, 2010. He was born in Racine on September 24, 1958, the son of Wilmer and Polly (nee: Mooney) Earl. Cortez will be remembered for his love and devotion for his family, his passion for the game of chess, and his extraordinary sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife Kay L. Earl; his children, Curtis Morgan, Darrick Sims, Randy Earl, and precious daughter Charissa Earl; his brothers, Michael Mooney and Anthony Earl; and wonderful sister, Rachel Owens. He is further survived by eleven grandchildren who meant the world to him; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and the best of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer Earl; and his mother and step-father, Polly and William Owens. Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 with Rev. Bobby Vinson officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Internment will take place at Graceland Cemetery immediately following the service.
