Memorial Suggestions

Memorials in Curt’s name may be made out to “Pan Yack Tree Fund” (23903 Oakwood Lane  Kansasville, WI  53139).

Curt Lawrence Meltzer, age 77, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully March 11, 2026, at home, in his favorite recliner.

Curt was born in Racine WI on October 14, 1948, in Racine WI,  the 3rd son to the late Rudolph and Florence Meltzer. He graduated from Park High School, and during those years, he met the love of his life, the late Judith (nee Mikulecky). Following graduation Curt joined the family business, Mamco Corporation, where he dedicated his career and eventually became owner and Vice President of Purchasing. His strong work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his life.

Curt was a proud father to his children Kimberly (Michael Kurhajec) and Matthew and a loving grandfather to Max, Ali, Ben and Chloe, as well as his late Grandson Samuel Kurhajec whom he missed deeply. Over the years, Matt was not only a son, but also became a full-time caregiver and best friend, a bond Curt cherished deeply.

In his younger years he found great joy spending time with family and friends at their family’s summer home in Pan Yack Park, where he won the coveted Eagle Trophy during the Pan Yack Park Labor Day golf championship in 1976. What began as a summer retreat eventually became his full-time home, a place filled with countless memories. When Curt retired you could still find him riding his golf cart around Pan Yack meeting up with family and friends on the course, or at The Dover Inn where he made so many dear friends, and everyone knew his name. He never missed a chance to greet the ladies with a special hug and kiss, or high fives and a wave to everybody. Winters brought Curt to Sanibel Island, FL where he created lasting memories with his family, and made many dear friends there as well.

Curt will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to his friends, and lighting up every room with the best smiles and laughs.

Surviving are his children Kimberly (Michael) Kurhajec, and Matthew Meltzer; 4 grandchildren Max, Ali, Ben and Chloe Kurhajec; sister Debra Meltzer, sisters-in-law Karen and Sandra Meltzer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judy, her parents Francis and Ruth Mikulecky, grandson Samuel Kurhajec, brothers Ronald and William Meltzer, and niece Jill Meltzer

Per Curt’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Memorials in Curt’s name may be made out to “Pan Yack Tree Fund” (23903 Oakwood Lane  Kansasville, WI  53139).

To the families of Curt, I offer my sincere condolences In your loss. I grew up with the name Meltzer being a name I never forgot. I was born 7 months after Curt, and a friend of my Mom was a Tootie Meltzer, I am not certain If I am on the right track, but If so, I love my memory, as OLD memories are sometimes all one has. I too lost my Wife, and can only guess It was just as hard for Curt. I am also quite familiar with the Mikulecky family, from the Park High era. Once again, My Sympathy for the loss of Curt.
