Racine – Curtis Lee Green, age 62, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.

Curtis was born in Moultrie, Georgia on June 25, 1953 to the late Eddie Lewis and Essie Mae (nee: White) Green. He grew up in Chicago, IL and came to Racine in 1979 to play basketball for University of Wisconsin – Parkside. With a special interest in mentoring the youth of our community, Curtis was a well-respected counselor at the Taylor Home for over 25 years. A true warrior in the fight against cancer, Curtis never let this ruthless disease capture his spirit.

Tall in stature, yet always humble and kind, Curtis was a phenomenal athlete and lifetime fan of basketball. He also enjoyed a lazy day of fishing as often as possible. Above all, Curtis was an extreme family man who cherished being in the surroundings of all his loved ones.

Surviving are his fiancé, Tracy Johnson; children, Jamin (Pam) Green, Dimonah (C.J.) Green, Tamara (Will Banks) Green and Shannon (Angel Rodriguez) Kuhagen;18 grandchildren; sister, Rebecca (Vincent Mollison) Pollock; brother, Eddie Samson Green; step-children, Amber (Lavelton) Brown, Genie (Daniel Mitchell) Webb and Matthew (Gabriella) Jenkins; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends – including his extended family from his career at the Taylor Home. A memorial service celebrating Curtis's life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Melvin Hargrove officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon.
