Obituary

Mount Pleasant – Cynthia "Cindy" Ann (nee: Harmann) Comello, age 71;  passed away at Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 with the comfort of her beloved husband, Chuck, at her side.

Cynthia was born in Racine on July 14, 1953 to the late Donald E. and Rose Ella (nee: Mueller) Harmann. A 1971 graduate of JI Case High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from University of Wisconsin – Parkside. Later, she attained her Master's Degree in Education. With a great love for children, Cindy taught 1 st grade at Schulte School in Sturtevant for over 33 years, retiring in 2008.

On November 17, 1990 in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Cindy was united in marriage with the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Luke Comello, Jr. On that day, Cindy gained four sisters and Chuck gained four brothers. They always thought that was really cool. With Chuck retiring in 2007 and Cindy in 2008, they loved spending time with each other, every hour of every day, for the past 17 years of retirement.

With a lifetime of profound Catholic faith, Cindy was a tirelessly faithful and devoted volunteer & member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sturtevant where she was involved in many capacities, most notably, serving as a current parish trustee. Whatever needed to be done to enhance the lives of others, Cindy was the first to raise her hand. Whether it was cooking for the less fortunate through the St. Vincent DePaul meal program, listening attentively to someone who needed a shoulder to lean on, baking the perfect themed birthday cake for a niece / nephew or caring for family member in their time of need …..Cindy was there. She certainly made the world a better place to live.  When she wasn't helping others, Cindy enjoyed gardening, yardwork, cooking, baking, stopping in at her beloved church, going to lunch / dinner with her retiree friends and golfing with Chuck in their couples informal golf league at various courses in the area where a great dinner at a different restaurant always followed. She has touched the lives of many.

Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 35 years, Chuck; brothers, Jeff (Peggy) Harmann and Scott (Gail) Harmann; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Paul) Madsen, Kit Brown and Kay (Mike) Meyer; many special nieces & nephews that Cindy loved so very much; other relatives, former students, church family & friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

Cindy was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Don & Rose Ella Harmann; brothers, Patrick & Keith Harmann; Chuck's parents, Charles Sr. and Adeline (nee: Hintz) Comello; sister-in-law, Toni (Wayne) Dorman; and by Cindy & Chuck's canine companion, Ziggy.
