Daniel F.
Kane
Jan 4, 1944 — Jul 7, 2019
Daniel F. Kane, 75, received the promise of eternal life on Sunday, July 7, 2019. He was born in Racine on January 4, 1944, son of the late Frederick and Mildred (Née: Rollert) Kane.
Daniel was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Ruth Evelyn Gill, on May 21, 1966, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine.
Daniel proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army during Korea. He was an MP in the 503 rd MP Detachment in Korea. Daniel was a member of the American Legion Post 546 in Racine.
His work life and work ethics started very early. In 4th grade, after school, he would go to the Molbecks Grocery Store in West Racine, where his mother was working, and where he was given the job of "candling eggs" for any defects, before they were put into cartons. He eventually worked his way up to delivery driver during his high school years. He also worked part-time at other businesses in West Racine during his high school years, such as the local gas station and drug store/soda fountain. He also delivered flowers for Miller's Flowers, when he was needed for assistance, especially during inclement weather conditions. After high school, his first full-time job was at Hamilton-Beach before his long tenure at Jacobsen Mfg. He worked for Jacobsen Mfg. (Div. of Textron) with 43 years of service, retiring in April 2009. While there, he received an award for his many years of work days without any absences.
He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports including the Chicago Bears, NASCAR, the Racine Raiders, and golf. He was a golf course marshall for men's PGA and women's LPGA golf tournaments in Milwaukee. Daniel also loved Corvettes. He had to sell his '64 Corvette when he was drafted into the service. He would buy another '64 Corvette later in life to replace the one he had to give up. Most of all, Daniel loved spending time at home with his wife, Ruth.
To cherish his memory, Dan leaves his wife of 53 years, Ruth Kane of Racine; daughter, Tracy Ynocencio of Racine; grandsons, Daniel Ynocencio, Sr., Gino Ynocencio, both of Racine; great-grandsons, Daniel Ynocencio, Jr., Joshua Alvarez, both of Racine; sister, Marilyn Resheske of Houston; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by his sister Nancy (Michael) Sorenson; and brother-in-law, Dave Resheske.
The family is planning private services for Daniel. Memorials have been suggested to Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Avenue, Racine, WI, 53405.
