DARLENE "DOLLY" WOOD RACINE – Darlene "Dolly" Wood, 56, died at her residence on Monday, July 31, 2006 after a brave and valiant struggle with cancer. She was born in Racine on October 9, 1949, the daughter of Arthur C. and Martha A. (nee: O'Connor) Wood. Dolly worked as the picture framing market manager for Specialty Tapes for nearly 22 years. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Her greatest joy came from being with people. She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Surviving are her mother, Martha Wood of Racine; her brother, Dennis (Diana) Wood of Rice Lake, WI; nieces and nephew, Michelle, Marcie, Jennifer and Peter; her "special care giving angels," Colleen Gerou and Karen Tourville; her "best bud," Tedi Bear Wood and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. A memorial service celebrating Dolly's life will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at noon. Relatives and friends can meet with her family and closest friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place in Graceland Cemetery on Monday, August 7, 2006. Memorials can be made to either the American Brain Tumor Association or the Oncology Alliance Research Dept.
